Make Over by Shinjuku Premium Salon

Oh, iya..kemarin hari Kartini lho. Selamat Hari Kartini, seluruh perempuan Indonesia!! :)

Kalau Hari Kartini, jadi keingat  dressing up dengan baju daerah masa-masa TK deh. Oh well...

What had I been doing on Kartini's Day? I was at the new salon in town, Shinjuku Premium Salon.

After succeed being one of the best salon in Surabaya, Shinjuku Premium Salon's owner, Mr.Audid, decided to opened another branch here in Jakarta. Its concept are simple : Beautiful hair with low maintenace. So no more hair dry, hot roll, and bad hair day.

You can found Shinjuku Premium on 1st floor at Kuningan City, Jakarta.

@Silphee and me were one of the 4 lucky readers who's been chosen by Clever Girl ( whileyouonearth.blogspot.com) to go there. She came to its grand opening last week, and had the opportunity with her sister to choose 4 lucky reader who will get free hair treatment. :)

I love its interior.  At first glance, you'll realize this is a top salon by its design and choice of floor material. It's simple,yet elegant. Though the place rather small, but the designer is so clever to make it not felt so stifling. Tiap ruang tempat duduk dibatasi dengan panel yang fungsinya juga sebagai meja rias. Selain itu cermin meja rias tidak dipasang secara penuh sepanjang meja rias, melainkan hanya sebesar satu kursi. Jadi, selain kita bisa melihat siapa yang ada di seberang kita, yang ruangnya juga tidak terkesan sempit.

I don't know what its concept really is, but I really like the front seating area. It reminds me of those backstage make up table I've seen in movies. 

Also, I like its washing area. On the ceiling, they placed a mirror. At first, I felt so awkward looking upward and found my reflection on the ceiling. Tapi lama kelamaan terbiasa juga sih. Kan bagus juga supaya kita tahu kayak gimana sih proses pencucian rambut itu. Ada buktinyakan kalo mbak/mas memang mengeramas rambut kita pakai shampoo,bukan pakai sabun cuci piring. (Just kidding. Ya mana mungkin sih orang salon tega nyuci rambut enggak pake shampoo,Jo?!!) Enggak cuma itu aja, enak banget nih kalo lagi nyalon bareng temen, jadi saat lagi dicuci,kita bisa ngobrol sama temen di samping kita. Yah, at least,lumayan juga lha buat melirik-lirik siapa tahu di sebelah kita ada cowok ganteng lagi dikeramas juga. Hahaha.

Kita sudahi dulu babbling soal interior ini. Mari lanjut ke kegiatan hari itu.

Each of us had a consultation about our hair problem with Mr. Audid. After consulting, then Mr. Audid decided what kind of treatment our hair would have. Oh iya, treatment di sini akhirnya bukan sekedar treatment kayak creambath,blow,hairspa gitu lho. Instead, dia malah menawarkan supaya para lucky readers juga ikutan di-make over. Katanya biar lebih kerasa perbedaannya gitu. Walah, saya sih senang-senang saja. Horeee :D

My recent hair condition as you read on the previous post, is permed hair. Menurut Ko' Audid, panjang rambut saya udah pas kok. Selain itu, tipe wajah saya adalah tipe yang cocok dengan jenis rambut apa aja. (Hihihi, jadi malu) But since it's a basic permed, it doesn't fix my hair's texture. Karena tekstur rambut gue ngembang dan kaku, keriting gue yang sekarang walaupun bisa bertahan lama tanpa disisir, keritingnya ikutan frizzy dan berantakan.

  

Oh iya, Ko' Audid juga ngejelasin sebenarnya entah itu mau di-smoothing atau dikeriting, kita harus hati-hati memilih salon. Ada salon yang meng-overprocessed rambut kita, alias karena kelamaan didiamin dan tekniknya enggak bener.Nah kalau sudah begitu, enggak heran hasilnya jadi enggak memuaskan, terutama ujung-ujung rambut kita bisa patah atau krenyes-krenyes bengkok gitu.

So what will I get for my make over? A haircut and Digiwave.

What's a digiwave? No, I'm not talking about satelite. Digital Wave or as people prefer to call it "Digiwave"  is the newest technique to curly your hair. What's so cool about it is that it gives you the right amount of wave. Not too curly, but wavy enough and give more volume to your hair. Not only that, it gives soft texture for your hair,too.

Prosesnya memang memakan waktu berjam-jam sih. Tapi, secara udah 10 tahun meluruskan dan memacem-macemin rambut di salon, I'm used to it.

 First, I got my hair cut and I have  Front Straight Bangs again. What I like about my new bangs is THAT it follows my eyebrow line so it looks more natural than the old front bangs..

 Then, they gave me a smoothing treatment with L'oreal Extenso product. Its smell is really different from Makarizo's. If Makarizo's smells like a cookie dough, L'oreal Extenso smell almost like fruit. Shinjuku Premium sure have a well-trained employee and supported by great product. Biasanya, saat rambut saya ditarik-tarik, 5 menit kemudian ujungnya jadi krenyes-keriting gitu. Saat dicatok pun, keriting rusaknya tetap berbekas Eh, saat ditarik oleh pegawai di sini, hasil smoothingnya benar-benar smooth dan lurus lho.

Proses selanjutnya adalah digital wave itu sendiri. Petama-tama,tiap bagian rambut dilapisi dengan kain tebal dulu. Katanya, supaya nanti kulit kepalanya enggak kepanasan. Kemudian, barulah rambut diroll. Nah, yang membuat digiwave berbeda dari proses keriting lainnya, roll rambutnya punya plug! Ternyata disebut digi wave karena rambut nanti akan dialiri energi panas lewat kabel-kabel yang menghubungkan rol dengan mesin digital wavenya.  Honestly,saat kabel mesinnya udah disambungkan ke rol rambut, saya merasa seperti Chii di Chobits or Neo di The Matrix. Yeah, I felt like those character who's being plugged for recharging or going to another dimension.. Gimana enggak, udah disambung ke mesih, juga kerasa banget rasa panas dari mesin yang sedang me-digiwave rambut. Kepala saya sampai keringatan lho. hahaha.

Makanya setelah proses yang tadi, kepala saya terasa sangat super duper ringan setelah rol-rol itu dilepaskan dari kepala saya. Haha..

Proses terakhir adalah menetralkan rambut supaya hasil digi-wavenya lebih alami dan tahan lama. Setelah dinetralkan, dibilas, dan distylist... TA-DA~~~

Revlon Colorburst Butter

It's been a long time since the last time I review beauty products. Tiba-tiba aja jadi rindu. Hihihi.

Believe it or not, I'm going to be 22 years old now (Whaat?? You thought I'm 25? Oh well, saya sudah biasa dibilang bahwa tampang saya lebih tua dari umur aslinya). My aunty said I have to learn to put more make up, including to put some lipstick on.

I think she has a point. Maybe it's time to upgrade my make up ritual. I mean, since a year ago, I've started to upgrade my make up little by little. So until now, I already learned how to put some blush on, foundation, concealer, eyeshadow, eyeliner(which I stop using it because it makes me look even older and more evil), and face contour maker. Maybe it's time change from lip-gloss into lipstick...

The thing is I'm not a lipstick person. I scarcely use them. Cuma make lipstick ketika jadi penerima tamu di resepsi pernikahan saudara dan kalau dipaksa sama Tante aja. In my make up purse, I have ZERO lipstick. Why am I not so fond of them? First, because the color's too bold for me. Second, because I don't like its texture. And lastly, I feel old using them.

Honestly, I'm more a lip-gloss/lip balm person because its texture is more soft and glossy. Plus, I have chapped lips. So I love how lip-gloss makes my lips less chapped than it already has. This is also the reason why I only buy those two things.

But then I found Revlon Lip Butter.

From where I knew this product? Well, I have to blame Emma Stone for this. Since The Help, I became one of her fans. And a couple of months ago, I couldn't help notice that she became the new face of Revlon's product. I saw her poster when I walked by Watsons. Which product? Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter, that is.

I guess this one is for person like me, the one who wants to learn using lipstick but not ready to move on from lip-gloss. It gives a coverage like lipstick,but it's a balm which still gives the moisture my chapped lips need. Xixixi.


Creamsicle-Tutti Fruti- Cherry Tart- Cotton Candy


The day after I saw that Ad, I decided to buy 2 of them.Weeks later, I already have 4 shades in my make up purse.

Let's see them one by one. Oh, since my SLR has a fever,  I only use my webcam and camera phone. The picture's resolutions came out bad. I decided not to post them. Sorry . But don't worry, thanks to Revlon's Virtual Makeover, I can show you how the color turns out on my lips:


1)Creamsicle. It has a creamy light coral color. This one almost makes my lips look pale.

2)Tutti Frutty. It has a bold coral color,almost bright orange.

That's why I like to combine Creamsicle with Tutty Frutty to get a soften the color that comes from Tutty Frutty:

3)Cotton Candy. It has pale pink color. This is my favorite one. I use this for everyday look. The pink is like the one you see on Korean celebrity used.

4)Cherry Tart .I just bought this. It has a bright red, like cherry.

How about the promises Revlon told people from the ad? Is it true?

As a chapped lips owner, I have to tell you that they're not use the statement only to advertise their product. I feel my lips more moisture and soften. It's like wearing balm (enough moisture, but not wet)and shine like a lipgloss in a lipstick packaging.


Two things I should tell you,though :

1) The color shown on the stick will be way difference once it touches the lips. So, I recommend to try it on your lips first. So you know how the color comes out and whether it suits you or not.
2) It's not long lasting. The color only last for about 5 hours. So I have to re-apply it over and over again.



CONCLUSION
Despite the fact that the color's not long lasting and I have to re-apply it multiple times, I like this product. It's affordable, only Rp 75.000,00. It has great shades. Most importantly, it moisturize my chapped lips. Also it's a cheat option for those who haven't ready to leave lip-gloss world, but want to be seen like they're wearing lipstick... Basically, people like me :)

Pas buka pintu, gue kaget melihat ada box  bernamakan untuk gue. Ternyata isi dari kotak itu adalah :

Garnier Light Peel-off Mask,lengkap dengan shoulder pillow + headbands;packages yang dimaksud e-mail sebelumnya. Waduh, jangan-jangan orangnya baru nyadar kalau kemarin dia salah kirim paket,terus paket  yang sebelumnya disuruh balikin lagi.. ahahaha XD

Sebelum memakai mari kita kenalan dulu sama Produknya :D

Garnier Light Peel Off Mask, masker wajah dalam bentuk gel dingin bisa menjadi pilihan Anda untuk menyegarkan kulit. My Thought

Honestly, ini adalah kali pertama gue mencoba pakai maskeran. Pengalaman maskeran gue hanyalah sebatas melihat nyokap maskeran atau nonton dorama. Tahu 'kan scene saat orang-orang dikirain hantu gara-gara cuma pakai masker? nyihihihi

Lanjuut..

Saat membuka kemasan,keluarlah gel berwarna kuning (somehow mengingatkan gue sama Slimey dari GhostBuster,bedanya ini warna kuning). Karena sempat membaca review dari orang banyak, gue udah menyiapkan mental supaya nahan nafas. Kata mereka, bau produk ini menyengat banget. On the other hand, for me, emang lemoney banget sih, tapi enggak semenyengat itu. Mungkin karena dulu gue pernah pakai produk facial wash Garnier yang Lemon dan baunya sama persis kayak masker ini.  So ,buat gue, smellsnya enggak bermasalah (sekali lagi,buat gue ya. Kalau orang lain mungkin terlalu strong).

Its texture is very sticky. It's kinda troublesome for me to apply it with my hand. When I'm done applying it, there are still some left on my hand. To get rid of it, I soaked my hand under water while rubbing it until my hands were free from the sticky gel.

After 20-30 minutes(lupa liat waktu), maskernya kering.  Seperti pakai Pore Pack, gue bisa merasakan si masker menarik kulit-kulit mati dan kotoran yang menempel di wajah. Oke,lebih tepatnya wajah gue berasa ditarik-tarik,but in a good way.

Lalu tibalah saat untuk mengelupas maskernya. Biar lebih mudah, dilepas dari arah dagu ke atas.

I have a brighter and softer skin and feelin fresh,too. Jadi pingin nyanyi "My skin feeling fresh" dengan nada L'arc~en~ciel's "ARE YOU FEELING FINE?" (skalian pamer bentar karena Sabtu ini bakal nonton concert show Laruku di EpiWalk ,fufufufu)  :D

Conclusion

I don't like the texture. Its texture are too sticky and made its application to my face got a lil' messy.

However, it came off easily when it's totally dry. The result is satisfying,too. As I said before, my face became brighter and softer.

You can find it in the nearest supermarket or drugstore( at least di Indonesia)The price's also cheap. Rp. 11.900,00  for two times application and you get brighter skin instantly, who doesn't want that? I know I do ;)

Joan Loves... L'Oreal Paris UV Protector UV Perfect Matte SPF 30

Last week a person asked my email. First thing that came into my brain was "Waduh siapa ini?!" Ternyata setelah ditelusuri dan ditelaah, Edho Alhabasya morang yang menghubungi gue adalah PR consultant dari Magnifique untuk Garnier. Hmm,mungkin tahu twitter account  gara-gara gue ikutan acara hairshow itu. Yasud, I gave him my contact details. Honestly, I feel flattered when he asked me. As you read my posts, you know that  I'm not a beauty blogger. Beauty sih iya (*preeett,kabur sebelum ditimpuk),tapi cuma sesekali ngereview masalah kecantikan. Post review film lebih banyak kali daripada tentang beauty care.

Couple of days later I received a  surprise package from L'Oreal. Seriously, a surprise. Because from e-mail that was sent to me, L'Oreal would sent my a mask to be reviewed. And yet, what I received was this:



a beach bag and L'Oreal UV PERFECT MAT SPF 30.

Waa kebetulan banget. Gue dari kemarin lagi rencana mau beli sunscreennya buat muka. Eh, dapet gratisan. Berkat terindah (setelah ditraktir sama Ibu Pendeta ketika  gue mau mendekam bikin CAD di Begawan Solo Coffee) deh :D.

Kenapa gue lagi ngebet ingin beli Sun screen? I learned that sun screen is important for you to prevent you from aging or having skin cancer (you can read the rest here). Though gue udah lama tahu ini, tapi selama ini rada males pakainya. Basically, because it gets sticky to my face dan rasanya muka ini mau jatoh saking lapisan di muka bertambah 'berat'. Tapi karena akhir-akhir ini lagi concern tentang skin care, gue ingin bertobat. hahaha

So here's a little information about the product:

My Thought

I love its packaging. It comes in squeeze tube. I don't need to shake it like crazy just to make the liquid comes out(seperti nasib skinfood emulsion gue yang susah banget dikeluarin isinya -___-"). Penutupnya cukup sekali diputar dan langsung ke buka. Praktis, I like it.



Warnanya cocok buat kulit gue yang cenderung fair. Teksturnya  enggak seperti tipikal sunscreen pada umumnya, as in not too kental. Instead, teksturnya lumayan cair.  Begitu diaplikasikan ke kulit, it blends nicely to my skin. It also gives my skin a radiant look. And guess what? Ringan dan enggak lengket di kulit gue :D

Untu baunya,menurut gue cukup bagus karena enggak terlalu menyengat. Baunya kayak Nivea cleansing cream, lembut gitu .

It's sweat proof. So when you're sweating, the product won't come off so easily.

The minus point :  It  still gets a lil' bit oily when I'm sweating. However,berminyak dan mengkilapnyanya enggak separah seperti waktu gue mencoba pakai sunscreen lidah buaya keluaran Korea itu. Kalau yang itu sih parah banget. Gue sampe disindir,mukanya mengkilap habiss T___T

Will I recommend to other people? I think I will. It blends nicely, smells good, weight lighter than any sunscreen product I've tried,not sticky,and gives protection to  your skin. Saat gue cek harganya di internet, harganya cukup terjangkau kok, sekitar Rp 95000,00 (ngelirik blognya K'Carnellin)

Joan Loves..... L'Oreal Professionnel Texture Expert Taming Cream

So tomorrow morning, I'm going to join my mum to her office's family gathering which means I,at least, have to look decent. My wild-thick-half curly-half straight (bekas smoothing) hair won't help me to look like one.

When I have to go to some event,but  have no time going to salon to make my hair looks good, usually I'll do it my self the night before. My Ritual would be: keramas(with Dove shampoo and Dove Conditioner), then put vitamin before I style it.

Tonight, I change the steps a little bit. How? By using L'Oreal Professionnel Texture Expert Taming Cream (which I got from the L'oreal  hairshow goodie bag :D)

A dream cream for taming thick, rebellious hair, that delivers nutrition and softness to instantly reduce volume and give long-lasting anti-humidity protection.

Usage: Work a hazelnut-sized amount into hands and apply to clean, towel-dried hair before blow-drying (use a diffuser to define curls). Can be reapplied to dry hair throughout the day for added control.

What I quite don't like about it is the scent saat baru pertama kali keluar dari bungkusnya. It has a weird scent,almost like arabian honey and I don't like arabian honey (dulu pernah dipaksa minum waktu lagi sakit,baunya enggak suka gue :(). Untungnya, baunya lama-kelamaan enggak semenyengat itu.

Saat diaplikasikan ke rambut,wiih dingin -dingin empuk (apa siiih ,jo?) kayak mau creambath gitu.

Keringing rambut,terus mulai mengutak-atik rambut.......

The result?

Very satisfying.

:D  Karena gue masih amatiran dalam hal catok mencatok sendiri rambut gue,meskipun pakai vitamin, biasanya bagian akarnya enggak akan terlalu lurus (or keesokannya akan jadi keriting lagi). Yang lebih ngebetein, rambut gue agak sedikit kaku

After I use this product, my hair looks even better. Okay, to be fair, emang engga langsung lurus banget gitu (secara gue juga enggak berani narik rambut gue setega orang-orang di salon). Tapi memang rambut gue jadi terasa lebih ringan, lebih halus,dan lebih lurus dibandingin pakai vitamin biasa. Hasilnya juga jadi lebih flowy. So yeah it sure does taming my wild-thick-half curly-half straight (bekas smoothing) hair.

Kalo gue baca di review orang-orang, krim ini juga berguna untuk mengontrol rambut frizzy in daily life juga. So maybe I should give it a try without straightening my hair later.

As I promised before, today I will share about L'Oréal Professionnele "Beauté Originelle" Hairshow.




The Show

After Press Conference we're heading to Mutiara Ballroom where the show will be held. While waiting untill the show's started, we're given a Loreal goodie bag. Also we were served with so many delicious delicacies from Grand Melia. I'm falling in love with the amuse bouche~ Okay, focus, Jo!

At Hairshow.. Thanks to Tina who took picture of me.. Mind the chubby cheek(kebanyakan makan karena stress)

After a wonderful meal, kami dipersilahkan masuk menuju ke ruangan Mutiara Ballroom 3. Di dalamnya sudah tersedia kursi untuk media di bagian tengah.

Acara dibuka dengan narasi dan video menggambar memakai pasir,kemudian nyanyian dari Dewi Sandra who by the way looked so fabulous. She wore such beautiful dress with a long white wig which made her looked like an angel. Like seriously, I was in awe looking at her.

Then the show started, a line of beautiful models walking down the catwalk with white pallette dress and beautiful hair style and colour. They walked so gracefully as they picturing the pure side of each look.

Another drawing with sand show was started again as the second show about to start and showing the 'wild' side. Oh iya, awalnya gue pikir video gambarnya itu udah direkam sebelumnya. Ternyata live lho. Seniman yang ngegambar ada di belakang kursi penonton. 

Oke,lanjuut. In the second part. Dewi Sandra showed up with 180degree different look. So cool and showing her wild side. She sang lagu "Umpan Cinta". Yup, lagu yang itu tu "Stop,kau mencuri hatiku..hatiku~". Of course the song arrangement was  changed. Instead of dangdut, it sounds more hip,modern,and mysterious, I guess. 

Nah,bagian yang ini keren banget. Panel-panel putih polos yang ada sebagai ornamen panggung itu lalu berputar,berubah menjadi panel-panel bertempel kaca yang punya sudut-sudut tajam dan kaku. Menurut gue cocok banget untuk menggambarkan sisi wild perempuan yang bisa fierce and strong as a woman. Then from behind, a group of fierce woman showed up. Each woman wore and awesome dress that made them looked like warriors,edgy look, and of course incredible hair style. 

As the show had come to an end, Models came back and walk again with people who made the incredible hairstyle.

Setelah benar-benar selesai, gue mengekor K'Carnellin. Biasa lah, mau foto-foto bareng modelnya. Tadinya mau foto bareng sama Dewi Sandra. Sayangnya gue kalah gesit sama wartawan infotainment yang keburu 'menyingkirkan' gue supaya bisa wawancara sama Dewi Sandra. Hiks, padahal gue udah berdiri di sampingnya Dewi, tinggal foto bareng aja...yasudahlah,Jo.

However, gue berhasil foto bareng  Melissa Karim,  MC for this entire show, who was so nice dan bersedia di foto padahal dia lagi mau makan. Hadeuuh, maafkan saya sudah merepotkan _l7o.

PS: sampai sekarang belum dikirimin foto bagusnya.. harap maklum kalau resolusi fotonya agak abal _l7o
