Joan Loves.... Kyo-dai Ramen's Yasai Ramen

Kyo-Dai Ramen Kelapa Gading
There's new ramen restaurant in Kelapa Gading. It's Kyo-dai Ramen.

I haven't visit its 2nd floor, however I love being seated in ground floor. Mereka hanya memakai 1 ruko, which actually's not that small. Usually, you can have 2 eating areas (right side and left side). Since they put its main kitchen in the front as open kitchen, it makes the eating space smaller. I like its interior design which more reserved, using natural color scheme, like brown color for the floor (i think it's parquette for eating area, then  stone ceramics for its kitchen),  dark grey color for the wall (they use stone ceramic with different texture from its floor of course) on which displayed a couple pictures of yummy menus; contrast it  with light yellow/beige color for its bar table (I think it's was finished with fiberglass) and black fiberglass stool. I think at 2nd floor, you'll find they used wooden furniture for table and chair because its more bigger than in 1st floor.

Actually, I kinda like it. The small space to eat gives the vibe of those little traditional ramen shops I've seen in doramas. However, this shop is so modern in  appliances usage. Since it's an open kitchen, we can see how they make our ramen. They use that  modern shiny stainless steel appliances from Japan (Oh yeah, I know. Its intructions are all written in hiragana and kanji). And I'm in awe looking at their giant ramen  maker. I've seen ramen shop using pasta maker, instant noodle, even their own hands, but this is the first time I've seen that kind of machine. (Harap maklum. Pe mangkage skali kita do e! ahahaha)

Okay, let's talk about the most important thing: the taste of its Ramen.

Since I'm still in almost vegetarian mode on (which mean I don't eat everything that still in form of meat, unless it's a broth), I can only order Yasai Ramen. Even the second time  I came with my sister, I still order that Ramen, while my sister ordered the oishii-mitai Spicy Hokaido Miso Ramen.

Let's begin with my order, YASAI RAMEN.

Basically, it's ramen with variations of vegetables as its topping (like sweet corn, radish, carrot, bamboo, nori, and bean sprouts) ,served with fish/chicken broth. How was it? Or as my big sis put it as "refreshing" taste. That noodle is tasty and has the right amount of chewiness (halah,jo!). The vegetables aren't cooked that long so they're still crunchy and fresh. Last but not least, the sweetness of the corn balances its savory broth. So even though this ramen only contains vegetables, it won't disappoint your tongue. This definitely became my favorite menu from Kyo-dai Ramen.

Then there's my sister's order, Spicy Hokkaido Miso Ramen

My sister is a frank person. She's like Lily from Princess' Diaries. She tells it like it is. For this ramen, she still feel couldn't beat Niji Ramen. She's not a fan of curly yellow noodle which is used for it.  Moreover, it's not spicy at all. In my opinion, I could defense about it spiciness. We're Manadonese, who grew up with spicy food dan rica-rica yang pedesnya bikin mampus dan sakit perut. And now, we're talking about Japanese food here, which the only thing I found so spicy is only wasabi. Other than that, pedesnya makanan Jepang itu cuma geli-geli di lidah aja. Pasti dikasih.

However, she likes this ramen more than IR's. Unlike IR's (which in her opinion) yang kaldunya bikin eneg, tapi enggak ada kerasa babi-babinya, this Kyodai's more satisfying. More importantly, its YAKIBUTA (slices of roasted pork) are delicious and to die for. The meat is mouth-watering, juicy, and savoury. Yah,yummy deh!

Oh ya, for price, yah cukup bersainglah sama ramen-ramen merek lain.  Started from Rp.28.0000,00 (versi regular yasai ramen, yang gedenya Rp 38.000,00) for its ramen.

So after 2 times being in here and order the same menu, I still feel satisfied. Habis kan ada tuh restoran yang pas pertama-tama aja baru buka rasanya enak dan sangat memuaskan demi mengundang banyak tamu, tapi beberapa hari kemudian dikunjungi rasanya malah jadi menurun. So, yeah, I like eating here. It has yummy ramens, cozy interior, and soothing ambience (lagunya ngajak karaokean XD, hahahaha). Also I'd like to try another menu other than ramen that they serve in this place. XD
