I adore British Culture I adore it's accent. I adore their taste. I adore their actors. I adore their literature from Jane Austen till Sophie Kinsella. I adore their music. And I adore their TV-show (from Girls in Love, The IT Crowd, until BBC documentary,you name it) Beberapa hari ini, I've been addicted to watch Supersize vs Superskinny.
I think almost every woman in the world wants to be thin, even skinny. From using diet pills, some exercise rapidly, until starve ourselves, or maybe simply give Photoshop treatment to our photos, we use every single possible way to make us look thinner. I, myself, are one of the desperate to be thinner. (I'm not proud about this. But, just like they say, 'Admitting your problem is the first step to be a better person.')
Became thinner is no an easy thing.There's so much temptation around us. Fast food, junk food, instant food, all unhealthy food are around us. And the fact that things become more convenience can be backstabbing,too. I mean, now we can even do delivery service for food via internet,right? If we're not careful enough, we can get fatter. And if we can't take control of our body, there's always a possibility to become unhealthy or even obese.
Supersize vs Superskinny take us to look on two people who's having this two problem. One can't control his/her eating habit and become obese. The other is so skinny, either because he/she is too busy, afraid becoming fatter, whatever his/her reason makes him/her forgot to eat. To make things better for these two people, Dr. Christian Jessen brings them to the Feeding Clinic to give them an extreme treatment for a couple of days.
What extreme treatment? By swapping their eating habit. The Supersize will spend his/her days eating really small portion that's been The Superskinny taken. And The Superskinny will eat lots and lot of food that's usually taken by The Supersize. Interesting,huh? With this treatment, The Supersize will learn to eat less and The Superskinny will learn to eat more.
And what really interesting is to see the usual foods taken by the two sides. Not only the extreme amounts both sides usually eat,but also what are they eating. Of course mainly became so obese because they eat unhealthy food. However, there's a Supersize who eat very healthy food but still become fat because he/she eat that portion for 2 people. There are Superskinnies who became so skinny because he/she only eat chocolate bars,junk food, replace meal with coffee or tea.
Other than that, these series will show us how eating disorder effects people, what food should we eat,and many other information about being fit.
This is a great series. They want to show us how important to be balance to maintain our weight. By maintaining doesn't mean to eat less. I learn that we do have to eat from 5 food group(grain,vegetables,meat&fish, dairy, Fats-Oils-Sweets). Cutting one of them or only eating some of them will make us lose some benefits that are needed for our body. Of course taking too much meat will get us fatter. However, we can't cut them off because we need the protein.
Just be balanced. Control your eating. And, of course, Exercise.
